Pioneers Fall on the Road

Pioneers fall to undefeated Vincennes 97-61.  Vincennes (10-0) took charge the second half and proceeded to pull down 18 offensive rebounds with Michael Osei-Bonsu (6'6, 290) and Shilo Jackson (6'8, 240) combining for 35 pts and 18 rebounds along with 6'7 Caleb Johnson's 18 pts.

Daniel Bal (FR) from White House Heritage shined with 10 pts, hitting 2-2 from three.  Asa Hardyway led the Pioneers with 21 pts, 8 rebs and 6-7 from the foul line.  They hit a couple of last second shot clock 3's.  "It was 47-31 at half-time.  We fought hard the first half," stated Coach Melvin.  Vol State (2-7, 1-3 conf) will play defending league champions (Dyersburg State) Wednesday night at 7:30 and then travel to take on the defending Region VII Champions, Roane State (2-2), Saturday, December 3 at 4:00 pm.  Vol State will finish the first half of their schedule December 10 on the road at NE Mississippi CC who are ranked 12th in the country.
