Bio

Brad Swope has over 40 years of experience in Athletic Training. His career began in Nashville over 30 years ago with Baptist Sports Medicine, where he worked with local high schools, Volunteer State Community College, and professional teams like the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. Later, he established a Sports Medicine Department at Sumner Regional Medical Center and taught Health Occupations at Mt. Juliet High School.
Brad also volunteered for 10 years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, providing athletic training services. He then served as Athletic Trainer at Station Camp High School before joining Athletes in Action, a mission program under CRU. His next role was at Tennessee State University, where he worked with the men’s basketball and other sports. In 2020, he briefly served as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at Florida A&M University before returning to TSU.
He later worked at White House Heritage High School and eventually returned to Volunteer State Community College as their Athletic Trainer, completing a full circle in his Tennessee career.
Brad has held leadership roles in professional organizations such as the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society, where he currently chairs the ATs Care program. His achievements include multiple awards and induction into the Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society Hall of Fame.
On a personal note, Brad lives in Gallatin, TN, with his wife, Jana. They have a blended family of five children and soon-to-be six grandchildren, including two sets of twins. He enjoys family time, golf, and travel.
